Our organization is and will remain chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and we were issued club No. 4032. MRC is governed by elected officers who serve and direct our club. They consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. A Safety Officer and Field Marshal are also elected by the membership. The President appoints qualified members to the Board of Directors. Together, this group oversees the development and organization of the McMinnville Remote Control Club which has a membership of approximately thirty members at this time. We hold meetings the last Sunday afternoon of each month at the field and occasionally include some summer cookouts and fun day activities. MRC sponsors an annual Christmas banquet in December that is fun for the whole family. This covered dish affair would make anyones mouth water and members enjoy spending the time together and are always thankful for the good friends and fellowship the club offers. Our new grass runway project is complete. The main runway size is 450 ft. by 60 ft. with a crosswind Dog Leg that is 150 ft. by 60 ft. Our future plans are to pave an additional 20' strip adjacent to our 60' grass runway. We have restroom facilities and electrical outlets for charging batteries. MRC members take as many opportunities as possible to introduce the hobby/sport to others who are interested in learning. The Club's dedicated members display their planes at special events and volunteer their time answering questions for the public. In December 1999 we prepared a 16 ft. float, carrying some of our models, for the McMinnville Downtown Christmas Parade. We have had the opportunity to show our planes at the Three Star Mall in McMinnville, TN on several occasions during their Mall Anniversary Celebrations. We have set up display booths at numerous other festivals and public gatherings. This year, 2001, we are sponsoring a pretty young lady in the Warren County A & L Fair's Fairest of the Fair Pagent. Miss Amanda Woodlee will represent our club in September. We are constantly searching for ways to share the sport with others and to introduce modeling to the youth in our area. In doing this, we are also creating new ways for members to interact with each other. We aren't just a summer flying club, but rather a family oriented fun club! If this sounds like something for you or your family to become involved in, check us out. We would love to have you visit. If you don't fly already, that's alright. We have a pilots that volunteer their time to help others learn more about modeling, from suggesting which plane is right for you, to your solo flight. That's what we're all about. Come join the FUN! Check out our map and directions to the field on our Location page. We will be looking for you.
